Gelato
Gelato may be the dictionary Italian equivalent for ice cream, but anyone who's had a real Italian gelato knows that regular ice cream cannot compare to the exquisite taste of a good gelato. What's the difference? Some people insist that there's less air in gelato. While the concentration of air may be difficult to measure, gelato does contain less fat, less sugar, fewer eggs, less cream, and certainly no butter. What it doesn't lack, however, is a rich and fresh taste that makes even true ice cream lovers wonder if something hasn't been lost in translation.
